SYSTEMS: DataCopy GSPlus
To remove the internal SCSI terminators:
Open the bottom access panel of the GSPlus by removing the 8 Phillips screws that secures the access panel to the bottom housing. Pull the access panel toward the rear of the scanner and then up.
Once the access panel is removed, remove the 4 hexagonal screws that hold the PC board in the scanner. On the component side of the PC board remove the 3 single in-line resistors packs (they will be bright yellow or red). They will be at reference designations: RA28, RA29, RA30 and located next to the SCSI cable connector on the PC board. To reassemble, replace the PC board inside the scanner and secure with the 4 hexagonal screws. Affix the access panel to the bottom of scanner and secure with the 8 Phillip screws. |

TIB#131 12/21/94 Installing DataCopy Scanners with TB v2.08 SYSTEMS: TextBridge PC Version 2.08 If you are using TextBridge with a DATACOPY 730GS scanner: 1.) Install TextBridge per Chapter 2 "Installation" in TextBridge manual. 2.) Go to DOS and change to the "txbridge" directory. Type: "cd c:\txbridge" 3.) Make a directory called "datacopy". Type: "md datacopy" 4.) Copy the following two files to the "txbridge\datacopy" directory. xisdcp30.sys dcpy7830.pxw Type: copy {Path}\xisdcp30.sys {drive letter}:\txbridge\datacopy (enter) copy {Path}\dcpy7830.pxw {drive letter}:\txbridge\datacopy (enter) Where: {Path} is the location of the scanner files {drive letter} points to the drive TextBridge resides 5.) Modify your config.sys file to include "XISDCP30.SYS" as a device. Using an ASCII text editor of choice, add a line to the config.sys file as follows: device={drive letter}:\txbridge\datacopy\xisdcp30.sys 2E8 Where: {drive letter} points to the drive TextBridge is on "2E8" is the IO port address and must reflect the IO switch setting on the
scanner interface card (DataCopy Model 111 Interface) To change the IO port setting refer to TIB024. 6.) Re-boot the PC, launch Windows and follow the steps on page 2-12 of your TextBridge manual ("Install and test an ISIS driver"). Enter the path {Drive}:\txbridge\datacopy in step #6 after the message:
"Insert disk containing scanner drivers".

TIB#24 08/17/94 DataCopy 111 Interface Switch Settings SYSTEMS: TB PC Ver 2.X INFORMATIONAL ONLY: The XIS-Datacopy 111 interface card works with the Jet Reader, 730, 730GS and 830 scanners on PCs with the AT bus. There are two switch packs on the card; the reference designations are U1 and U2. The default settings are: U1 2,6,8 ON ----- U2 2 ON U1 controls the beginning port I/O address. The default is 2E8 hex (switches 2, 6, and 8 on). U2 sets the interrupt; switch 2 on sets the interrupt request to 2. All XIS-Datacopy software that supports the scanners listed above looks for a port I/O address of 2E8. Except Discover 386, all XIS-Datacopy software uses port I/O address 2E8 exclusively, and cannot change the I/O address. The XIS-Datacopy software that uses the 2E8 port I/O address exclusively are: PC Image Page Mate Gray F/X OCR WIPS VP Mate Discover 386's port I/O address can be changed by accessing the Installation Main Menu, selecting item 6, Change Configuration Options. From the Discover Configuration Menu, you can change the scanner's port I/O address. The chart on the next page shows the hexadecimal settings available to the 111 interface. The reference designation of the switch is U1 and is located in the upper right corner of the card. Switches 1 and 2 control the first digit. Switches 3, 4, 5 and 6 control the second digit. Switches 7 and 8 control the last digit. |
